This technique involves the assembly of jewels from different elements. Initially the metal is cast and then rolled into plates or drawn into threads of the desired thickness. These plates and threads are then modelled with pinchers, filer, saw and the elements are then jointed together by soldering. This consists in melting tiny pieces of a special alloy in the joints.
With this technique, it is possible to prepare jewels suitable for stonesetting.
